My numbers project a lower batting average, slugging percentage and fewer home runs for Alvarez.
My takeaway from that is this: Those numbers don’t project a “bad” 2023 for Alvarez, but rather recognize how good Alvarez was in 2022.
A slash of .293/.381/.572 with 34 home runs and 97 RBI is nothing to be mad about.
