An Astros loss and Mariners win has decreased the Astros odds of winning the AL West by 0.9%.
Houston remains comfortably in front by 5.5 games, but I’ll remind folks of the one caveat I mentioned a few days ago.
Here’s the way I look at it (assuming Seattle has tie breaker).
Looking at it this way shows you why the odds are highly stacked in the Astros favor as September dawns.
This reflects last night’s loss of a game in the standings to the Mariners.
