Season Projections
The numbers for Jose Abreu continue to trend downward. The numbers below are projected for the season, but for the current season, he has an ISO Slugging of .033, which means 3.3% of his bats end in extra-base hits.
Another day, another new name in blue (injured list), another new pitcher.
Urquidy and Garcia were projected to face 1,200+ batters at the time of injury. That’s a lot of plate appearances to fill if they’re out for an extended period of time.
Bullpen Usage
Back to back for Stanek.
Today’s Pitching Matchup
Tough matchup against Logan Webb for a team struggling to hit.
K Prop
Another stay away as I have Framber at 6.4 and market is at 6.5.
Odds
Astros -188 is today’s number, which I don’t understand given the pitching matchup and the Astros offense. If I were not biased I’d look at the Giants +140.
Projected Standings
It’s still early and the Astros are only two games behind the Rangers in the win column, but we’re at the 30-game mark now.
While one could argue the schedule softens a bit in May (Mariners, White Sox, six games with the A’s), there are also Brewers (18-11), Twins (17-13) and Angels.
May not mean anything note of the day
Dubon had a big day on Monday, but is only 3 for his last 17 (.176).
