Bullpen Usage
Mushinski and Martinez are likely down for multiple days, but that’s what they’re there for.
Today’s Pitching Matchup
Depending on the site you look at the Astros are either starting Framber or a roster move is pending. Since I’m unable to pull stats for someone not on the roster I’m going to pretend it’s Framber.
K Prop
I’m seeing a number of 5.5 at one book, which I don’t understand because Framber has averaged facing 26 batters per start, has struck out 26.9% of batters and 32% of the Angels roster, which brings me to at least 7.5. Over.
Odds
It bit me last night, but I feel the same about Astros -205. It doesn’t offer a lot of return, but Astros -1.5 +100 is the way I would go, with the same reasoning. The Astros have played only 9 one-run games, the fewest in MLB. If they lose it doesn’t matter anyway and if they win there’s a high likelihood it’s by more than one.
Projected Standings
On 5.1 I had the Astros at 93 wins. After a 17-10 May, they’re up to 96.
May not mean anything note of the day
In his last 5 games of May, Jeremy Pena slashed .353/.500/.824 with a .538 wOBA, 255 wRC+ and 0.5 WAR.
