Bullpen Usage
Pressly should have been out of the 9th in a lot fewer pitches, but part of that is his own fault.
Today’s Pitching Matchup
Cristian Javier has little experience vs. the Nationals and McKenzie Gore has 0 against the Astros.
K Prop
Javier is set at 5.5, but he doesn’t have enough experience against these guys for me to set a number and feel good about it.
Odds
Again, Astros -200 is too rich for me, but I don’t mind Astros -1.5 at +100. It bit me last night, but that’s a game they win by more than 1 run 99 times out of 100 and I can live with that for the increased return.
Projected Standings
The Angels are 5.5 back of the Rangers and 2 back of the Astros in real standings, but my projections have them further back in the long run.
May not mean anything note of the day
Jose Abreu’s overall numbers are still pretty crappy, but in June Abreu is slashing .327/.346/.571 in 49 at-bats, with 3 doubles and 3 home runs.
